There are many opportunities for our members to perform each year and we are able to offer backstage roles to those who may not be comfortable on stage although over time, we have found that confidence develops and eventually members enjoy performing. Support and encouragement is always there at every stage of the process.
Annually, we stage a low-key Christmas showcase in a church hall and a Summer showcase in our local theatre, the Bonington Theatre, to all our members. We often enter groups and Lamda students in the Mansfield Drama Festival in March; we apply to Episodes – the Nottinghamshire Dance Platform with our Senior Youth Dance group in March; our Young Company performs a National Theatre Connections play each year locally in March and at Nottingham Playhouse or Derby Theatre in April; Young Company annually performs a piece of children’s theatre with songs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August and again at Christmas in the Bonington Theatre; our Easter and Summer camps have an end of camp performance and there are external opportunities for young people to perform as extras in professional productions.
Young Company
Young Company will perform their 2023 NT Connections play ‘Old Times’ by Molly Taylor and in addition, short excerpts from our Senior groups and Adult group will be performed at the Bonington Theatre, Arnold.
Mansfield Drama Festival
Mansfield Drama Festival – groups taking part will be Inter Drama, Senior Drama, Inter Youth Theatre, Senior Youth Theatre, Adult Drama and Lamda students at St Mark’s Church Hall, Mansfield.
Youth Dance
We are applying for our Youth Dance group to be part of this dance platform which will take place at Lakeside Arts Theatre, Nottingham.
Old Times
‘Old Times’ by Molly Taylor (NT Connections play) performed at Nottingham Playhouse.
Lamda
Lamda examinations at the Mercure Nottingham Sherwood Hotel, Nottingham.
Summer Showcase
All groups will have the opportunity to perform in our Summer Showcase 2023 at the Bonington Theatre, Arnold.
Peter Pan
‘Peter Pan’ by the Young Company will be performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2023.
Summer Camp
Summer Camp participants will perform to an audience of family and friends on the 4th day of the camp.
Christmas Showcase
All groups will have the opportunity to perform in our Christmas Showcase at the Good Shepherd Church Hall.
Peter Pan
There will be five performances of ‘Peter Pan’ by the Young Company at the Bonington Theatre.
