12 Feb Peter Pan at the Bonington Theatre – Friday 22nd – Saturday 23rd December
Our Christmas Show of Peter Pan was such a joyous occasion when all our cast from the Edinburgh Festival in the summer came back together to perform to 5 sold-out audiences at the Bonington Theatre. We were so proud of all our performers and the feedback we received from audiences was wonderful. We have now established something we have always wanted to and that is an annual Christmas Show that is affordable and accessible to all the community at the Bonington Theatre!
The Box Office income from the 5 performances will support the company going up to perform in Edinburgh this year as well as the fundraising from the tombola. It is such a unique opportunity and the young people gain so much in addition to performing which makes all the hard work so worthwhile. They visibly ‘grow’ in confidence speaking to members of the public to sell the show with flyers on the Royal Mile, organising and cooking meals in teams, seeing a number of shows both professional and amateur, from the weird to the wonderful and really making friends for life – a great prelude to going away to University or entering the world of work.
In 2024, the Young Company will be performing The Wizard of Oz, written especially for the 17 cast members from L Frank Baum’s original story with original songs by Jack Quarton (professional actor/musician, composer and musical director, Flying High CIC Board member).
