Mansfield Drama Festival – Saturday 23rd March – Centenary Year 1924 – 2024

Mansfield Drama Festival – Saturday 23rd March – Centenary Year 1924 – 2024

We arrived at a church hall in Mansfield at 9.00am for a wonderful day of performances from over 60 of our young people. The adjudicator enjoyed all our pieces, groups, solos and duologues and gave us all lots to think about for the future and developing our skills and talents. The organisers said how impressed they were with so many performances and how many talented people we have in our company. They also said what great teachers we have and we totally agree with them on both counts. Our performances are always a team effort and with the couple of absences we had through illness, the groups coped so well, working together to overcome the gaps and ensure that ‘the show must go on’!

The Mansfield Festival for us is an opportunity to perform and although there is a sense of being placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc (or in most of our cases – 1st & last as we were often the only ones in the class!), this is just one person’s opinion – the adjudicator and she did seem to favour the more light-hearted, entertaining pieces over the more emotional. Congratulations to all our performers who did such a great job and thank you to the parents who transported them to Mansfield. Thank you also to the leaders, Toni, Sophie and Carrie, supported by Gracie, Willow, Beth and Martha.
