Flying High Summer Showcase 2023 – Saturday 15th July

Flying High Summer Showcase 2023 – Saturday 15th July

This is the time of year that we celebrate all the work created by all the groups in Flying High from age 5 to 87. We will have a range of pieces for you to watch and your children, young people and older people will share what they love and do so well – performing for you in a professional theatre.

Venue: The Bonington Theatre, Arnold, NG5 7EE

Date: Saturday 15thJuly

Times: 2.00pm and 6.30pm

Structure of Showcase: The 2.00pm showcase will be repeated at 6.30pm so everyone will perform twice. Younger performers will mainly be in the first half and older ones (due to some more mature content) in the second half.

Arrangements:

Technical rehearsals at the Bonington Theatre (These will be approximately 35 minutes for each group so that the performers have the opportunity to get a sense of the space and we can try out lighting and sound) They will leave at the end of their tech rehearsal and return at 1.30 (afternoon showcase) and 6.00 (evening showcase)

9.00 – 9.35                   Junior Drama 1 (Charlie’s Monday group 5.15)

9.35 – 10.10                  Junior Drama 2 (Sophie’s Monday group 5.15)

10.10 – 10.45                Intermediate Drama (Toni’s Monday group 5.15)

10.45 – 11.20                Intermediate Youth Theatre (Toni’s Saturday group 10.30)

11.20 – 11.55                Senior Drama (Sophie’s Monday group 6.30)

11.55 – 12.30                Senior Youth Theatre (Sophie’s Saturday group 10.30)

12.30 – 1.00                  Inter/Senior Dance (Carrie & Martha’s Saturday group 10.30)

1.00 – 1.30                   Adult Phoenix Theatre (Carrie’s Tuesday group 10.30)

If there is space in the auditorium, performers can watch but please note that some of the content in the second half of the show is more mature in its content and use of language so we will not be taking junior school aged young people into this showcase unless parents are happy with this. Please ask us about this if you have any questions.

Everyone will be expected to leave between the shows for a break, tea, nap etc and then return for the evening. Junior Drama 1 will perform at around 6.30 – 6.45 and will be able to leave immediately afterwards if they wish to. We ask everyone else to respectfully leave at the interval if this is their intention.

Tickets are on sale from the Bonington Theatre Box office and online at www.boningtontheatre.co.uk/whatson-event/flying-high-annual-summer-showcase-2023/
